The Limestone Township Fire Protection District is a combination paid-on-call/volunteer fire department. The Department covers 36.5 square miles of Peoria County, including approx. 6 miles of Interstate 474. We respond out of 4 stations, have 14 pieces of equipment, 24 firefighters, 8 officers, and 5 publicly elected trustees. The department responds to all medical(EMS)calls, fire calls, and motor vehicle accidents with-in our district, along with any other types of rescue or 9-1-1 assistance calls. We also have mutual aid with all of the other departments in the county, each of us can assist each other if needed. In 2023 we responded to 1,651 calls,4,945 responses from our members.
